Nursery Summer Holiday Fun

Over the summer holidays, Little Crackers Nursery has had lots going on. Our year-round children have enjoyed themed weeks of structured activities and everyone has had plenty of fun.

It all began with a ‘sea’ theme and lots of fishy delights. After reading the story Rainbow Fish, the children got stuck into sea creature craft and bucketfuls of watery play. Week two moved on to the ‘beach’ with an ice cream kiosk role play, making postcards and a shell hunt in the sand. Then it was on to 'holidays' with our lovely Little Crackers enjoying using their imaginations to create great escapes.

The ‘natural world’ featured next, with the children learning about ladybirds. Everyone loved listening to the story What The Ladybird Heard and then had great fun exploring the themed tuff tray, counting the spots on the ladybirds and matching the correct numeral to the number of spots. They produced some amazing Ladybird artwork too, using apples to print ladybird shapes onto leaves.

Across the summer, Nursery has made the most of time outside - whatever the weather; hunting for minibeasts, tearing about on trikes, playing hop scotch with their friends, mark making with water and brushes.

Throughout the summer holidays, nursery life and nursery learning has carried on.
